Goodrich, Buried Nov. 8th In Rocky Hock Cemty. Benjamin Joseph Goodrich, 79, died Saturday, October [sic; November] 7, 1959 at 12:15 A.M. at his home in Wakefield after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Surry County and a retired farmer. His late parents were B.H. and Ansebelia Bailey Goodrich. He was a member of Rocky Hock Methodist Church. He was a widower of Mrs. Maude Goodrich. Surviving the one daughter, Miss Evelyn Goodrich of Wakefield; one son, Ernest W. Goodrich of Surry; one sister, Mrs. Annie Brittle, and one brother, J. Garland Goodrich, both of Wakefield; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services were held at the Purviance Funeral Chapel Sunday at 3 P.M. by the Rev. L.P. Bland, pastor of the Wakefield Methodist Church. Burial was in Rocky Hock Church Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** BENJ. J. He was a lifelong resident of Surry County and a retired farmer. His late parents were B.H. and Mrs. Ansebelia Bailey Goodrich. He was a member of Rocky Hock Methodist Church and was the widower of Mrs. Maude Whitmore Goodrich. Surviving the one daughter, Miss Evelyn Goodrich of Wakefield; one son, Ernest W. Goodrich of Surry; one sister, Mrs. Annie Brittle, and one brother, J. Garland Goodrich, both of Wakefield; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
