GOODRICH RITES SATURDAY AT WAKEFIELD DENDRON - Funeral services for Mrs. Cornelia Whitmore Goodrich will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Roy Creech, pastor of Surry Methodist Church and the Rev. E.R. Alexie. Burial will be in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Mrs. Goodrich, 81, widow of George W. Goodrich, died Thursday morning in a Newport News Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Surry County, a daughter of John and Mrs. Nettie Andrews Whitmore. She was a member of Dendron Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, G. Willard Goodrich of Dendron; a daughter, Mrs. James T. Davidson of Suffolk; a brother, Owen Whitmore of Dendron; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** SURRY NATIVE DIED THURSDAY SATURDAY RITES Mrs. Cornelia Whitmore Goodrich, 81, widow of George W. Goodrich, died Thursday morning in a Newport News hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Surry County, a resident of Dendron, and daughter of John and Mrs. Nellie Andrews Whitmore. She was a member of Dendron Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, G. Willard Goodrich of Dendron; a daughter, Mrs. James T. Davidson of Suffolk; a brother, Owen Whitmore of Dendron; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Roy Creech of Surry Methodist Church and the Rev. E.R. Alexie. She was a lifelong resident of Surry County and a member of the Dendron Methodist Church. She was the daughter of John and Nettie Andrews Whitmore and the widow of George W. Goodrich. She was survived by one son, G. Willard Goodrich of Dendron; one daughter, Mrs. James T. Davidson of Suffolk and one brother, Owen Whitmore of Dendron and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Purviance Funeral Chapel, Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roy Creech and Rev. E.R. Alexie officiating. Interment was at Rocky Hock Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ernest W. Goodrich, Osborne Goodrich, Wilson Cofer, Fenton Goodrich, Carlton Goodrich, Rod Wilson, Joe Eggleston and Joe Hargrave. ****************************************************************************** CORNELIA WHITMORE GOODRICH MRS.
