Robert L. Consolvo and the Rev. L.P. Bland. Burial was in Rocky Hock Church Cemetery in Surry County. Pallbearers were Alvin Lowe, Vernon Lowe, Ralph Bailey, R.J. Bailey, Joe Eggleston, Harry Lee Goodrich, Jerome Goodrich and Fenton Goodrich. Goodrich, 79, died Monday in a Franklin hospital after a long illness. He was a son of John A. and Mrs. Ida Bailey Goodrich. He was a lifelong resident and farmer of Surry County. He was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church and Farmers Hunt Club. He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Violet Mumford [sic; Munford] Goodrich; five daughters, Mrs. H.O. Barrett of Zuni, Mrs. H.D. Doss Jr. of Newsoms, Mrs. James H. Carden of Waverly, and Mrs. Frank R. Johnson Jr. and Miss Mary Agnes Goodrich of Wakefield; four sons, John W. Goodrich Jr. of Portsmouth, Ronnie A. Goodrich and E. Carlton Goodrich of Wakefield, and H.M. Goodrich of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; three stepsons, Robert H. Butler of Nashville, Tenn., Thomas W. Butler of Portsmouth and Fred W. Butler of Wakefield; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Rosemarie Corbett of Wakefield and Mrs. Glenn Wood of Holland; a sister, Miss Addie Goodrich of Wakefield; 34 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** JOHN WAVERLY GOODRICH WAKEFIELD - John Waverly Goodrich, 79, died Monday in a Franklin hospital after a long illness.
