GOODRICH WAKEFIELD - James Leslie Goodrich, 82, died Friday in a local nursing home. He was a farmer and lifelong resident of Surry County and attended Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Catherine S. Goodrich; three sons, C. Lelon Goodrich, Willie G. Goodrich, and Thomas E. Goodrich, all of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Bass of Stony Creek, and Mrs. Estelle Gay of Richmond; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. J.A. Duncan and the Rev. L.P. Bland. Burial will be in Rocky Hock United Methodist Church cemetery. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Waverly Rescue Squad. ****************************************************************************** JAMES LESLIE GOODRICH James Leslie Goodrich, age 82, a lifelong resident and farmer of Surry County, died Friday, November 18, in Logan Nursing Home, Wakefield. He was a member of the Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Scarborough Goodrich; three sons, Clyde Lelan Goodrich, Willie G. Goodrich, and Thomas Earl Goodrich, all of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Bass, Stoney Creek and Mrs. Estelle Gay, of Richmond. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 20, at 2:30 at Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield. Burial will be in Rocky Hock Cemetery. The family suggest memorials be made to the Waverly Rescue Squad.
