Born in Isle of Wight County, she taught in the public schools of Pitt County, N.C., and Sussex County before retiring in 1961. She was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, J. Garland Goodrich; two daughters, Mrs. Boyd C. Soles of Yorktown and Mrs. Roy H. Massengill of Brookside, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Mayes of Midlothian and Mrs. Thelma B. Brittle of Wakefield; a brother, D.C. Butler of Suffolk; and seven grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Purviance Funeral Chapel by the Rev. J.M. Tongue and the Rev. L.P. Bland.
