  WAKEFIELD - Robert Barkley Goodrich, 72, died Tuesday.  Funeral 2:30 p.m. 
Thursday Purviance Funeral Home, burial Rocky Hock Methodist Church Cemetery.

ROBERT BARKLEY GOODRICH 

SHORT ILLNESS FATAL TO R.B. GOODRICH 

  Robert Barkley Goodrich, 72, died at his home near Wakefield Tuesday after 
a short illness.  He was a lifelong resident and farmer of Sussex and Surry 
Counties, a son of John A. and Ida Bailey Goodrich and a member of Rocky Hock 
Methodist Church. 

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rena Richardson Goodrich, three sons, 
Herman D. Goodrich of Wakefield, Robert J. Goodrich of Franklin and Fenton 
R. Goodrich of Ivor; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie E. Brittle and Miss Addie R. 
Goodrich of Wakefield and a brother, John W. Goodrich of Wakefield and six 
grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral 
Chapel with Rev. L.P. Bland officiating.  Burial was in Rocky Hock Church 
Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were Carlton Goodrich, Willard Goodrich, Garland Goodrich, H.L. 
Goodrich, Jr., Pete Eggleston, R.J. Bailey, Jack Bailey and Edward Drewry.
