Goodrich killed by Falling Tree Wrillis W. Goodrich, of near Wakefield was fatally injured when struck by a falling tree near his home in Surry County on Monday, April 24, and lived only a few hours after the accident. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ida Mae Rogers and Mrs. A.J. Brittle, five brothers, J.G., B.J., C.H., J.A. and C.G. Goodrich. Funeral services were held at the home last Tuesday afternoon by his pastor, Rev. W.A. Orser, assisted by Rev. C.E. Gerringer, with interment in the Rocky Hock cemetery near this city.
