GOODRICH WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Susie Maynard Goodrich, 73, of Route 2, died Thursday in a Richmond hospital. Born in Surry County, she was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anne G. Scarborough of Petersburg; two step-daughters, Mrs. Doris Tabit and Mrs. Elva Greenstreet, both of Norfolk; five stepsons, Melvin B., C. Lyster and Harry Lee Goodrich Jr., all of Wakefield, and Lawrence and Woodland Goodrich, both of Richmond; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Fulgham of Windsor, Mrs. Cecil W. Gwaltney of Smithfield, Mrs. Sarah Howell of Yorktown and Mrs. Joseph C. Gwaltney of Waverly; two brothers, Lawrence C. Maynard of Newport News and Joseph F. Maynard of Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. James M. Tongue. Burial will be in Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery. A wonderful memorial given by Anne Goodrich Scarborough in memory for her Mother, Susie Maynard Goodrich. Anne grew up here at Rocky Hock Church and still has a deep love for our Church and our Cemetery where her Mother is buried.
