All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ SUSAN LYNN GOODRICH WAKEFIELD - A graveside funeral service for Susan Lynn Goodrich, 1, fatally injured Sunday in an automobile accident near Franklin was conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery, Surry County. The Rev. Roy C. Vernon and the Rev. L.P. Bland officiated. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, was in charge. Pallbearers were William Jenkins, Joe Johnson, Boyd Soles and Ray Massengill. The child, a native of Surry County was a daughter of Benjamin H. and Mrs. Laura Jenkins Goodrich and a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church cradle roll. Besides her parents, surviving are a brother Henry Goodrich; a sister Mary Ann Goodrich; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S.I. Jenkins, Mr. and Mrs. J. Garland Goodrich and Mrs. Laura Webb all of Wakefield. Her father, B.H. Goodrich, and her mother, Mrs. Laura Goodrich, both 29, and another daughter, Mary Ann, 5; were seriously injured and were taken to Norfolk General Hospital. Also injured were a son, Henry, 3 and Robert Lee Eley III, 17, of Route 1, Windsor, driver of the other car involved in the wreck. The accident occurred on the crest of a hill on Va. 614.
