GWALTNEY HELD Dendron, April 6 - The funeral of Mr. Joseph T. Gwaltney, age 67*, a well known citizen of Surry County, who died of Paralysis at his home near Savedge a few days ago, was held at his home at 3 o'clock Sunday, Rev. Mr. Brockman, pastor of Oak Hill Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. Gwaltney, was a member of Oak Hill Church. The deceased is survived by his wife, who was before her marriage, Miss Bettie Cox, of Savedge, two sons, Mr. Carroll Gwaltney, of Sussex County, and Mrs. Charley Gwaltney, of Savedge; two brothers, Mr. C.H. Gwaltney, of Surry, and Mr. W.L. Gwaltney of Claremont. Mr. Gwaltney was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Gwaltney of Surry County. He has lived in this county practically all his life. He was a member of the Brandon Lodge of Masons, who had charge of the funeral at the cemetery at Waverly, where interment was made. The honorary pallbearers were the nephews of the deceased.
