ALVIN STUART HIGGINS 

ALVIN S. HIGGINS OF DENDRON DIES 

  Dendron - Alvin Stuart Higgins, died at his home in Dendron June 11th. 
A master mechanic, he had been employed by the Surry Lumber Company.  He 
was a native of Nova Scotia.

  He is survived by his wife Mrs. Lucy Matthews Higgins; one daughter, 
Mrs. Harmon B. Richardson, of Waverly; one son, E.B. Higgins of Ocean 
View, Norfolk; and one sister, Mrs. Waverly S. Barrett of Dendron.

  The body was taken to the Harcum Funeral Home at Waverly where it was 
taken to the home, where funeral services were conducted in Spring Hill 
Cemetery.

native of Nova Scotia, Canada, d. 11 Jun 1945, at home, Dendron, age 73, 
interred in Spring Hill Christian Church Cemetery, Sussex Co., 
"The Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 28, No. 12, June 20, 1945, p. 1, col. 7
