Holleman, 38, Buried Oct. 11 Bacon's Castle Elbert Bennett Holleman, 38, farmer, of Surry, died early Sunday, October 9, 1960, at his home. A lifelong resident of Surry County, he was a member of Bacon's Castle Baptist Church and its Young Men's Bible Class, and a veteran of World War II. He was a son of Ethel Shepherd Holleman and the late Nancy Council Holleman. Survivors are his father; his widow, Mrs. Barbara Reynolds Holleman; two sons, Jerry W Holleman and Larry R. Holleman of the home; three sisters, Mrs. John M. Brock and Mrs. John G. Edwards of Surry, and Mrs. Ray P. Barlow of Smithfield; and a brother, Ray P. Holleman of Smithfield. A funeral service was held in the Bullock Funeral Home Tuesday, October 11th at 3 P.M. with burial in Old Brick Church Cemetery at Bacon's Castle.
