HANCOCK WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Edna Nelms Hancock, 74, of Route 1, died Thursday in Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk. She was formerly employed by Planters Division Standard Brands, Suffolk, for several years and was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ella F. Kinton of Petersburg, and Mrs. Rebecca D. Venier of Toledo, Ohio; a son, Joseph P. Hancock of Wakefield; two sisters, Miss Ruby A. Nelms and Mrs. Wilma N. Holland, both of Suffolk; four brothers, Fred L. Nelms, P.Christopher Nelms, David W. Nelms, and Ray H. Nelms, all of Suffolk; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rocky Hock United Methodist Church in Surry County, by the Rev.E. Lee Chattin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield.
