CEM. Arthur Raymond Hunnicutt, 58, died October 10th at 5 a.m. at his residence near Bacons Castle after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Surry County and a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church. He is survived by is wife Mrs. Emma McGuriman Hunicutt; 3 daughters, Emma Leo; Helen and Doris Hunnicutt; four sons, Arthur R. Jr., Thomas and Douglas Hunnicutt, all of Surry County and Walter H. Hunnicutt of Smithfield; one brother, Clyde Hunnicutt; two sisters, Mrs. J.L. Davis and Miss Hyacinth Hunnicutt of Surry and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at the grave in Old Brick Church Cemetery at Bacons Castle by Rev. E.C. Smith, pastor of Oak Grove Church and the Rev. J.F. Colston, pastor of Bacons Castle Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Bernard and Glenn Hunnicutt; Joe Rowell; Perry Gwaltney West; Julian L. and Julian D. Dewell.
