HARRIS CLAIMED BY DEATH Percy Ryland Harris, 68, a native of the Isle of Wight County but a resident here for the past 47 years during which time he was employed by the C. and O. railroad, died at 7:45 yesterday morning at Riverside hospital after a three weeks illness. A member of the Chestnut Ave. Baptist Church, he resided at 1345 23rd St. Surviving his are two sisters, Mrs. Minnie L. Gay and Miss Mammie L. Harris, of Newport News; one brother, John G. Harris, of this city; two nieces, three nephews and several grand nieces and nephews. The body will rest at the Carder Funeral Home until the hour of the services. Funeral will be held at 2 Saturday afternoon from Carder Funeral Home with the Rev. A.B. Clarke, pastor of the Chestnut Ave Baptist Church. Burial will be made at 4 in the Rocky Hock Methodist churchyard in Surry County. ****************************************************************************** PERCY RYLAND HARRIS PERCY R. HARRIS FUNERAL TODAY Funeral services for Percy Ryland Harris, 68, employee of the C. & O. Railroad, who died Thursday at the Riverside Hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today from the Carder Funeral Home with the Rev. A.B. Clarke, pastor of Chestnut Ave. Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in the Rocky Hock Methodist churchyard, Surry County. He was a resident of 1345 23rd St. and a member of the Chestnut Ave. Methodist Church. Surviving him are his two sisters, one brother, two nieces and three nephews. Active pallbearers will be: C.M. Cox, C.J. Christmas, C.P. Meredith, W.L. Harwell, Eddie Curtis, J.E. Eubank, J.L.
