HARGRAVE WAKEFIELD, Sept. 29 - Mrs. Mattie Morris Hargrave, 43, wife of Earl Woodrow Hargrave, died Tuesday. Also surviving are three sons, William E. Hargrave of the Navy, Melvin W. Hargrave of the Air Force and Ernest P. Hargrave of Wakefield; a daughter, Mrs. Shelby Cook of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Jesse Jones of Smithfield; two half-sisters, Mrs. Shirley Nicol of Burrowsville, and Mrs. Joseph E. Burgess of Wakefield, and fur half-brothers, Oscar T. Warren of Charleston, W.Va., John D. Warren of Shenandoah, W.T. Warren, Jr., of Smithfield and James A. Warren of Rushmere. Funeral arrangements were incomplete Tuesday. ****************************************************************************** MARTHA "MATTIE" MORRIS HARGRAVE Mrs. Mattie Morris Hargrave, 43, died at her home near Wakefield Tuesday morning after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Mrs. Belle M. Warren of Smithfield and the late Prince A. Morris. She was a member of Surry Assembly of God Church. Surviving are her husband, Earl Woodrow Hargrave; three sons, William Earl Hargrave of the Navy in Phoenix, Ariz., Melvin W. Hargrave of the Air Force in Hawaii, and Ernest P. Hargrave of Wakefield; a daughter, Mrs. Shelby Jean Cook of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Jesse Jones of Smithfield; two half-sisters, Mrs. Shirley Nicol of Burrowsville, Va., and Mrs. Joseph E. Burgess of Wakefield; and four half-brothers, Oscar T. Warren of Charleston, W.Va., John D. Warren, of Shenandoah, W.T. Warren, Jr., of Smithfield and James A. Warren of Rushmere. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Lawrence Huber, Joe E. Burgess, Morrison Holland, Raymond Fuller, Vernon Clark, Melvin Uzzle [sic; Uzzell], Jesse Jones, Vernon Lowe, Joseph Hargrave. Martha "Mattie" (MORRIS; Mrs. Earl W.)
