Hargrave, 67, of Hayes, Va., formerly of Surry County, Va., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at his residence. He was the son of the late Earl W. and Mattie Martha Morris Hargrave. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was an avid gardener and hunter, a member of the Farmer's Hunt Club, and a veteran of the U.S.A.F. He is survived by his wife, Betty A. Hargrave; a sons, Brian E. Hargrave and wife, Kathy, Justin C. Hargrave and wife, Natalie; grandchildren, Stephanie, Haley and Samuel Hargrave, all of Texas; sister, Shelby H. Cook, and husband, Steve, of Maryland; brothers, William Earl Hargrave of Arizona, and Ernest P. Hargrave of Surry County. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 10, at Rocky Hock UMC. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2 p.m., in the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
