A native of Southampton County, he was the son of Benjamin F. and Mrs. Sallie Ann Claud Knight. He was a member of Rock Hock Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Wortley Worrell Knight; a daughter, Mrs. Bernice K. Andrews; two sons, Ben E. Knight and Roy M. Knight; and three grandchildren, Mrs. J.C. Romines and Miss Elspeth Andrews of Wakefield and Mrs. J.F. Simms of Washington, D.C. Funeral services for Mr. Knight were conducted at the graveside in Rocky Hock Church cemetery on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by the pastor, Rev. L.P. Bland. Pallbearers were W.C. Andrews, David Branch, Stanley Cooper, Jennings Hargrave, A.H. Lowe, C.C. Murphy, J.N. Savedge and Aubrey Whitmore. ******************************************************************************* BENJAMIN FRANKLIN KNIGHT RITES HELD FOR B.F. KNIGHT Benjamin Franklin Knight, 88, died Friday, July 25, at his home in Wakefield. He was a member of Rocky Hock Methodist Church, a native of Southampton County, a retired farmer and son of the late Benjamin F. and Sallie Ann Claude [sic; Claud] Knight. He is survived by his wife, Wortley Worrell Knight; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice K. Andrews; two sons, R.M. and B.E. Knigiht; three grandchildren, Mrs. J.C. Romines, Miss Elspeth Andrews, all of Wakefield, and Mrs. J.F. Simms, of Washington, C.D., and one sister, Mrs. Estelle Kirkland, of Capron. Graveside services were held Sunday, July 27, at 3:30 at Rocky Hock cemetery, conducted by Rev. L.P. Bland. Pallbearers were David Branch, J.N. Savedge, Aubrey Whitmore, Cordie Andrews, Stanley Cooper, Jennings Hargrave, C.C. Murphy and A.H. Lowe.
