LOWE 1932 - 2009 Carrie Mason Henry married Barton Winston Lowe July 9, 1952. Carrie and Winston were the love of each other’s lives and were devoted to each other. She was Winston's helpmate and companion throughout their lives. Although they only had one child, they opened their hearts and home to numerous needy children over the years as foster parents in both Isle of Wight County and Surry County. Two of those children still considered Carrie to be their "mom" and assisted in her care up to the end. Carrie was born in 1932 and passed peacefully on Nov. 1, 2009 after a debilitating battle with Alzheimer's disease. Carrie's greatest legacy was the love and devotion she shared with her husband and family. In her earlier years she was a dedicated member of Rocky Hock UMC, and although she did not attend church regularly in later years, she never lost her faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Carrie leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Winston "Ninks" Lowe, their daughter Shelle Switzer, a foster son, James "Buddy" Smith, a foster daughter, Georgette Wells and three grandchildren. Carrie is buried in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Carrie Mason (HENRY; Mrs. B.
