LOWE - 1924 - 2001 Frances was a lifelong member at Rocky Hock Church. She started attending Rocky Hock as a child, coming with her father, B.E. Cowling, Sr., who taught a men's Sunday school class for many years. Following in her father's footsteps, Frances taught the Naomi Bible Class for many years until her health caused her to stop. Frances also helped in Vacation Bible School for many years and was active in the U.M.W. at Rocky Hock. Frances and her husband, Vernon, reared five children - two boys and three girls. She faithfully made sure her children attended church and Sunday school and enjoyed dressing them all up on their "Sunday best." She was devoted to her children and their families, always having large family gatherings especially during holiday seasons. She was a huge fan of the North Carolina Tarheels, and never missed an opportunity to watch them or to let you know about them, especially during a winning season! When Frances wasn't participating in church or family activities, she was actively campaigning for the American Heart Association in Surry County (Rocky Hock area). Frances was always full of life and enjoyed gatherings and people, many of whom have fond memories and stories about her. She and Vernon were married for 59 years. Frances is buried in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Thanks to the Lowe family for the information and picture.
