All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY VIOLA CURTIS LOWE WAKEFIELD - Mary Viola Curtis Lowe passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born on June 1, 1925 in Mecklenburg County, VA, to the late John William Curtis and the late Ola Gordon Curtis. She was the third youngest of ten children. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Surry County, where she met and married the late Alvin Howard Lowe, Jr., on December 4, 1941. While on their honeymoon to Richmond, they heard about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Following their honeymoon, they settled in Surry County, where Mrs. Lowe was a farmer's wife, homemaker, mother and great Southern cook. Mrs. Lowe was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by all nine of her brothers and sisters; Maynard, Audrey, William, Marvin, Lucille, Gordon, Carlton, Annie Lou and Garland. She was also predeceased by her good friend, Ernest Newton. Mrs. Lowe is survived by her daughter, Beverly Parson (Robert); her son, Dwight Lowe; granddaughter, Noelle Laney (Mark); grandson, Neil Parsons (Stacey); great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, and Eric; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lake Prince Woods Benevolence Fund. Mary Viola (CURTIS; Mrs. Alvin H.
