LOWE - 1922 - 2009 Vernon was born and raised on Cedar Point Farm and remained on the farm his entire life. He was a lifelong member of Rocky Hock UMC and very dedicated to the church, faithfully attending his whole life. He served as a trustee at Rocky Hock UMC for many years, and was also on the Rocky Hock Cemetery Perpetual Care Committee. He married Frances Cowling and was married for 59 years before Frances died in 2001. Vernon was well-liked and respected by everyone, and considered a true "southern gentleman." He always had a positive outlook on life and had something kind to say to everyone he'd meet. He loved to talk to people, and would always continue his conversation even after its end by saying, "Just one more thing..." One of his strangest attributes was his devotion to his family. He started his farming career with his father and brother, Alvin. Following their deaths, he continued farming with his sons, and then his grandsons. Vernon's legacy is his family. He was father to 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He is buried in Rocky Hock Cemetery.
