A native of Surry County, Mr. Moody was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Carrollton. He belonged to Moose Lodge No. 1119, Newport News. Mr. Moody retired from J.B. Whitmore Co., in 1975 after 21 years. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. Robert Casey. Burial will be in the Old Brick Church Cemetery, Bacon's Castle. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home, and at other times at the home of William J. Edwards, 1304 S. Mr. Moody was a native of Surry County. He retired in 1975 after 21 years of service from J.B. Whitmore Company. He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church in Carrollton. He belonged to Moose Lodge #1119 in Newport News. He was the widower of Temple Skinner Moody. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct 5 at 2 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Robert Casey. Burial was in the Old Brick Church Cemetery, Bacon's Castle, Va. Pallbearers were William N. Edwards, Joe A. Mitchell, Randolph P. Cray Sr., Linwood J. Hundley, Lee Thacker, William H. Epps, Russell E. Via and Marvin Edwards.
