PATRICK EUGENE MURPHY

  On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, Patrick E. Murphy made his way to his eternal 
paradise after his courageous battle against cancer.  Born on April 27, 1959, 
Patrick grew to be not only an amazing man, but also an amazing husband, 
father, brother, son and friend.  Patrick had an incredible love for animals 
and a heart for farming. He was always dedicated to his work and would be a 
helping hand to anyone in need.  Patrick spent his last 10 years as a truck 
driver for Food Lion Distribution Center where he not only found pride in his 
job, but many good friends that became his work family.  He was preceded in 
death by his father, Stanley Coleman Murphy and his son, Bruce Coleman Murphy. 

  Patrick leaves many unforgettable memories with his wife Joan; daughter, 
Christina; step-daughter, Alicia; mother, Margaret "Peggy"; brother, Anthony; 
sister, Terri; eight grandkids and many nieces and nephews, as well as a large 
number of unconditional friends. 

  The family will receive friends Friday, November 4, 2016 in the fellowship 
hall of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church from 5 to 7:00 p.m.  In keeping 
with Patrick's wishes, all services will be private.  R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral 
Home, Wakefield Chapel is serving the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial 
contributions may be made to Rocky Hock UMC, 2745 White Marsh Rd., Wakefield, 
VA. 23888, or Rocky Hock Church Cemetery Perpetual Care, c/o Richard Andrews, 
Chairman, 4899 White Marsh Rd., Wakefield, VA 23888.  Condolences may be
