CORRINE PITTMAN SPRING GROVE - Mrs. Corrine Hancock Pittman, 81, of Spring Grove, died Thursday in her daughter’s home. Born in Surry, she was a member of Dendron Congregation Christian Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Frances P. Burgess, with whom she lived, Mrs. Annie P. Lile of Colonial Heights, Mrs. Rebecca P. Dillon of Petersburg, and Mrs. Jeanette Davis of Hopewell; five sons, L. Eugene Pittman and Joseph Randolph Pittman, both of Richmond, Arthur Lee Pittman of Moyock, N.C., James Alton Pittman of Virginia Beach and Lawrence Hancock Pittman of Spring Grove; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Aubrey C. Todd and the Rev. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in the Rocky Hock Church cemetery, near Wakefield. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad. ****************************************************************************** CORRINE REBECCA HANCOCK PITTMAN CORRINE PITTMAN SPRING GROVE - Corrine Hancock Pittman, 81, died March 15, 1984 at the home of her daughter, Frances Burgess. A native of Dendron, she was a member of Surry Congregational Church. She lived in Colonial Heights with her daughter Anne Lile for the past several years. Her parents were the late Benjamin and Ella Frances Seward Hancock. Her husband was the late Eugene Pittman. She was survived by four daughters, Frances P. Burgess of Spring Grove, Anne P. Lile of Colonial Heights, Rebecca P. Dillon of Petersburg and Jeanette P. Davis of Hopewell; five sons, L. Eugene Pittman of Richmond, Arthur Lee Pittman of Moyock, N.C., James Alton Pittman of Virginia Beach, Lawrence Hancock Pittman of Spring Grove; 21 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. A funeral service was held March 17 at Purviance Funeral Chapel in Wakefield. Burial was in Rocky Hock Church Cemetery with the Rev. Aubrey Todd and Dr. R.E. Brittle officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad.
