POND FUNERAL THURSDAY AT ROCKY HOCK Funeral services for Mrs. John W. Pond, aged 74, were held today (Thursday) at 11:00 o’clock from her home in Rocky Hock neighborhood with interment in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Mrs. Pond, who had been in ill health for several years, died Tuesday evening of a heart attack. She was the former Miss Eva Edwards, daughter J.D. and Elmira Berryman Edwards, and a life-long resident of Surry County. She is survived by her husband, Jno. W. Pond; one daughter, Miss Eleanor R. Pond, of Hopewell; two sons, Clarence E. Pond of Roanoke, and Lyle H. Pond of Wakefield; one granddaughter, Jo Jacquelin Pond of Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. Percy Richardson, of Elberon; one brother, J.N. Edwards, of Belhaven, N.C., and a number of nieces and nephews.
