The interment will take place at Roca [sic; Rocky] Hock Cemetery. Mr. Pond was highly estimated by every one with whom he came in contact. He leaves a wife and two small children. ****************************************************************************** ROBERT LEE POND Note from family: At the time of R. Lee Pond's death, his wife, Jessie Lee Councill Pond, was eight months pregnant with their fourth child (one child had died at birth four years earlier). Robert Lee had asked his best friend and business partner, Jeb Stuart White, to look after his family if he should die. Jeb said he would and he died. Six years following Lee Pond's death, Jeb married Jessie and they had two children. Lee Pond and Jeb White's place of business was the corner brick building adjoining what was Jim Renney's law office. At Jessie's death, she was buried at Rocky Hock cemetery beside her first husband.
