JOSEPH HARVEY PRICE 

  SUFFOLK - J. Harvey Price, age 89, of Suffolk, died Monday, June 6, 1994, 
at Stonewall Jackson Extended Care in Lexington.  Mr. Price was a native of 
Dendron and was the son of the late Joseph H. and Nannie Holdsworth Price. 
He was a member of Manly Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington.  He retired 
in 1973 after 41 years of service from the Virginia Department of Highways 
and Transportation, Suffolk office.  He was a former resident of Surry County.
He is survived by his wife, Nannie Baird Price; a daughter, Courtney Baird 
Baker of Lexington; a sister, Hilda P. DeLucia of Windsor; a brother, William 
H. Price of Washington, N.C.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

  A graveside funeral service will be held in the Wakefield Cemetery on 
Thursday, June 9, 1994 at 11:30 a.m. by Dr. Thomas G. Harvey.

  The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, 
Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the Dendron 
Baptist Church, Dendron, Va. 23839.
