A retired farmer of Surry County, he had lived in Isle of Wight County for the past six years. He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church in Surry. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Susie Hunter Price; three daughters, Mrs. Ella P. Smith, Mrs. Alice P. Giles, both of Norfolk, and Miss Elizabeth Price, of Lynchburg; two sons, H.L. Price, of Smithfield, and W.J. Price, of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Mamie Price Bryant, of Spring Grove; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral procession will leave the Bullock Funeral Home in Smithfield at 2 p.m. tomorrow for services at the grave in Oakwood Cemetery at Surry Court House at 3 o'clock conducted by the Rev. H.B. Jones. PRICE, was a Confederate veteran, having served in Co. D, 10th VA Heavy Artillery, CSA. He m. "Sallie" Sarah E. LANE 14 Jan 1873, in Surry Co. He d. 6 Aug 1913, at home, of kidney trouble. His widow applied for a Confederate widow's pension 26 Mar 1923. Sallie (1 Mar 1852 - 11 Nov 1925) was buried in the Chapel Church Cemetery.
