Born on Dec. 26, 1927 in Wakefield, he was the son of the late Howard and Edna Collier Presson. He was a life-long farmer in Carsley, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a partner in Presson and Warthan, Inc., Waverly for 28 years, a member of the Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, Wakefield, a member of the General William Mahone Camp Sons of Confederate Veterans and a charter member of the Blackwater Sportsman’s Club. Allie leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Ingram Presson; two sons, John Allie Presson and his wife, Paige of Wakefield, Robert Guy Presson Aiken, SC; six daughters, Carol Evans of North Augusta, SC, Marie Benjamin and her husband Bryan of Warsaw, IN, Ginger Presson of Colonial Heights, Mary Cutchins and her husband Roland of Windsor, Jennifer Ervin and her husband Leslie of Waverly and Katrina Powers and her husband David of Gainesville; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Harris "Bubba" Presson and Howard Presson, Jr. A Mass of Resurrection was held at the Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, Wakefield at 4 p.m. on April 28 by Father Martin Lavin. Burial followed in Rocky Hock Church Cemetery near Wakefield. A short Christian Wake service was held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. and the family received friends following the service from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Surry Vol. Rescue Squad, Surry, VA 23883. ****************************************************************************** ALLIE BISHOP PRESSON DENDRON - Allie Bishop Presson, 74, died at his home on April 26, born on December 26, 1927 in Wakefield, the son of the late Howard and Edna Collier Presson.
