ARTHUR LEE PRESSON, SR. 

  WAKEFIELD - Arthur Lee Presson, Sr., 85, of Owens Grove Road, died July 5, 
1999, in Tucker, GA. 

  A native of Wakefield, he was born on Feb. 18, 1914, the son of the late 
Joel Henley Presson and Irene Harris Presson,  He was the husband of the late 
Amanda Wilson Presson and father of the late Arthur Lee Presson, Jr. 

  A retired farmer, Mr. Presson was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist 
Church, a charter member of the Wakefield Ruritan Club and the Blackwater 
Sportsman's Club, and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.  He 
was a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran of World War II (Third Army) and 
belonged to the England-Parsons American Legion Post No. 191, Waverly. 

  He is survived by his daughter, Alice Elizabeth Presson of Clarkston, GA.; 
two sisters, Louise P. Swink of Blacksburg, Va., and Helen P. Johnson of 
Deltaville, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. 

  A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, 
Wakefield, by the Rev. C. Randolph Duncan.  Burial will be in Rocky Hock 
Church Cemetery, Wakefield.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. 
Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 38159 Owens 
Grove Road, Wakefield.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes 
Association, P.O. Box 120016, Newport News, VA 23612-0016 or the American 
Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
