PRESSON WAKEFIELD - Harris Collier "Bubba" Presson, 64, died Thursday, Nov. 3, in his home. He was a lifelong resident of Surry County and a retired farmer. He was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, and was also a member of Wakefield and Farmers Hunt Clubs; nine-year member of Sussex County ASCS Committee; and 35 year member of Cooking Committee of Wakefield Shad Planking. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Murphy Presson; three daughters, Judy P. Baldwin of Wakefield, Berdie P. Duck of Windsor, and Jane P. Franklin of Birmingham, Ala.; a son, H. Collier Presson, Jr. of Wakefield; his mother, Edna C. Presson of Wakefield; one brother, Allie B. Presson of Waverly; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Purviance Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jess V. Staton. Burial will follow in Rocky Hock Cemetery, Surry County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Waverly or Ivor Rescue Squad. ****************************************************************************** HARRIS C. Mr. Harris, a native of Surry County was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. He was a member of Wakefield and Farmers hunt clubs. He was a member of the cooking committee of Wakefield Shad Planking for more than 35 years. He was a former member of the Sussex County Agricultural Stablization and Conservation Service committee. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Murphy Presson; three daughters, Judy P. Baldwin of Wakefield, Berdie P. Duck of Windsor, and Jane P. Franklin of Birmingham, Ala.; a son, H. Collier Presson, Jr. of Wakefield; his mother, Edna C. Presson of Wakefield; one brother, Allie B. Presson of Waverly; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
