Rogers. By their Mother Ida Mae Rogers." HETTIE MAE AND CLARENCE E. ROGERS Hettie Mae (1908-1934) and Clarence (1913-1939) Rogers were two of six children of Ida Mae and George W. Rogers. Both died at the age of 26 years old. Hettie died of tuberculosis that she contracted while attending school in Dendron. Several of her classmates also perished of the disease during the same period. Very little is known about Clarence other than he loved motorcycles. He often rode with Elwood Goodrich and Raymond Chappell. He died of an epileptic seizure at Elwood's home. Clarence and Hettie Mae were born on the farm where Mary Elizabeth Rogers lives today. They lived there until their father's death in 1915 when their mother Ida Mae moved the family to the farm that is between Larry Rogers' home and Sonny Boykin's home. Clarence and Hettie are buried in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Note: Thanks to Larry Rogers for the information and pictures.
