RICHARDSON Percy Wyatt Richardson, 84, died Tuesday night, April 14, at his home near Elberon. He was a member of Rocky Hock Methodist Church, a native of Sussex County, retired merchant and farmer and son of the late John and Sarah Elizabeth Richardson. Survivors include his wife, Annie Edwards Richardson, of Elberon; one daughter, Mrs. Willard S. Emory, of Clover; one son, V. Sherwin Richardson, of Elberon; six grandchildren; one brother, Philip E. Richardson, of Hampton, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 16, at 3 p.m. at Purviance Funeral Home at Wakefield with Rev. L.P. Bland and Rev. Frank Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was at Rocky Hock Cemetery. Pallbearers were H.H. Bell, H.S. King, Dr. R.B. McEwen, Stanley Cooper, Willie Bell, John Savedge, McCoy Barfield and Ward Tynes. ****************************************************************************** GIVEN IN HONOR OF MR. AND MRS. PERCY RICHARDSON - THE HISTORY OF OUR CHURCH PEWS - ROCKY HOCK METHODIST CHURCH Percy Wyatt Richardson (1874 - 1959) and Annie Edwards (1883 - 1969) were married on December 25, 1913. His nickname was "Dollie," and he and Annie had two children - a daughter, Claire, and a son, Sherwin. Both Dollie and Annie were members of Rocky Hock Church. After their marriage, Dollie purchased the farm from Annie's father's estate. He farmed until his health failed, and his son Sherwin, took over the farming operation. Frances Richardson, Sherwin's widow, still lives on the farm. Dollie and Annie are buried in Rocky Hock Cemetery. Thanks to Frances Richardson for the information and pictures.
