PHILLIP E. RICHARDSON 

  RICHARDSON, Phillip E., formerly of Shelton Home, Hampton, died Saturday, 
August 16.  Surviving are several nephews.  A funeral service will be 
conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 17, at the Rocky Hock Methodist Church 
Cemetery, Surry County.  (W.J. Smith funeral Home in charge.)

  Phillip E. Richardson, 92, died August 16, at Patrick Henry Hospital. 

  A former resident of Shelton Home, Hampton, he was a native of Surry County. 
He is survived by several nephews. 

  Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Rocky Hock Methodist 
Church Cemetery in Surry County.  The Rev. L.P. Bland, former pastor, will 
officiate. 

  The body is at W.J. Smith Funeral Home, Newport News.

His brother Percy is buried in the same plot.

*Phillip does not appear with his parents, John Henry & Sarah W. Elizabeth 
   RICHARDSON, in the 1880 Census - Wakefield Dist., Sussex Co.  The closest 
   match is John H., age 4.  An unnamed child was born to them in Sussex Co. 
   in Aug 1876.  (Sussex Co. B.Reg. 1876 #90) 

D.Cert. 69-022835 gives no record of parents. 

His father was a Confederate veteran, having risen from private to 2nd 
   sergeant in Co. 3, 4th VA Infantry.  He enlisted 18 Apr 1861, and was 
   discharged 14 Oct 1862 due to disability.
