Marion Rollings, 61, of Surry, died December 4, 1978 at his home. He was the husband of Carol C. Rollings; a retired owner of the American Auto Service Station in Surry. He was a member and trustee of the Surry Methodist Church; a board member of the Surry County Educational Foundation; and a member of the Surry County Electoral Board. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, William M. Rollings, Jr. of Surry; two daughters, Mrs. J.T. Hite, Jr. of Dendron, Miss Ida Mae Rollings of Surry; a sister, Mrs. J.H. Hargrave of Dendron; a brother, J. Melvin Rollings of Elberon; and two grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Surry. The family suggests memorials to the Surry United Methodist Church or the Surry County Rescue Squad.
