LEWIS NICHOLAS SAVEDGE 

  SURRY - Lewis Nicholas Savedge, 86, a retired school superintendent of 
Surry County, died here [sic*] Monday.

  He was a graduate of the College of William and Mary and was school 
superintendent from 1905 until his retirement in 1927 due to ill health.

  Mr. Savedge is survived by his wife, Alice Brooke Savedge.

  A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Episcopal 
Church, with burial in Oak Wood [sic; Oakwood] Cemetery in Surry.

  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Surry County Academy or 
the Surry Rescue.
