All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BERTHA LORRAINE ADAMS STALLINGS DENDRON - Mrs. Bertha Adams Stallings, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Hampton. A native of Surry County, she was a member of the Dendron Baptist Church and a longtime member of the church choir. She was also the past president of the Women’s Missionary Union, a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union of the church, as well as a former Sunday school teacher for 50 years. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Thelma S. Perry of Hampton; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille A. Hall of Georgia, Mrs. Dora A. Wallace of Lynchburg and Mrs. Nancy A. Ellis of Spring Grove; two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Wakefield Cemetery with the Rev. Parker Hooper officiating. Burial was in the Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Threewitts, Joseph Hargrave, A.C. Lowe, Horris King, Jr. and Wallace Faison. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Dendron Baptist Church. Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield was in charge of the arrangements.
