He was a retired Surry farmer and was the oldest member of Moore's Swamp Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eliza Anne Edwards Stringfield; two daughters, Mrs. [Martha S.] Newman of [...] and Mrs. Dorothy S. Kitchen of Elberon; a brother, William Joseph Stringfield of Elberon and three grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Moore's Swamp church cemetery by the Rev. John W. Spencer and Dr. R. E. Brittle. Expressions of sympathy should be made in the form of contributions to the Surry Rescue Squad. The remains rest in the Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield.
