GRACE ELIZABETH CLARK SAIN 

  WILLIAMSBURG - Grace Clark Sain, 83, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 
her home, Spring Arbor Assisted Living, in Williamsburg.  Born in Dendron, VA, 
she has been a Hampton resident for 80 years.  Grace graduated from Hampton 
High School in 1948.  She then began a career at NASA, retiring as a Manager 
in Records Administration in 1986 after 37 years.  Grace received numerous 
awards for her outstanding service at NASA.  She was also a member of West 
Hampton Baptist Church for over 60 years.  She enjoyed the time she spent with 
her dear friends in her Sunday school class.  Family was a very important part 
of her life.  After her retirement from NASA, Grace spent many years 
passionately taking care of numerous family members.  She is survived by her 
son, John M. Sain, Jr and his wife Penny; brother, Floyd T. Clark, Jr.; 
beloved granddaughter, Ashley Blackmon and her husband Zack; great 
granddaughter, Makenzie Grace Blackmon; niece, Jane Niethamer; and former 
husband, John M. Sain, Sr.  The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 PM 
Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at West Hampton Baptist Church.  Immediately following 
at 2:00 PM, a funeral celebration will be held at the church by Dr. Danny 
Owens.  Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.  The family wishes 
expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to West Hampton 
Baptist Church, 631 Aberdeen Road, Hampton, VA 23661.  Arrangements are by R. 
Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave in downtown Hampton.
