Ralph W. Mapp, pastor of Surry Baptist Church, and the Rev. Horace B. Jones, pastor of the Church of God. Pallbearers were C.J. Rowell, H.C. Seward, Jr., J.H. Holloman, Jesse B. Warren, W.S. Berryman and G.P. Logan. ****************************************************************************** MRS. A.P. SEWARD BURIED AT SURRY TUESDAY, APRIL 8 Mrs. Georgia Jones Seward, 57, widow of Allen Pierce Seward, died Monday, April 7, at a Suffolk hospital. She was a member of the Surry Baptist Church. She is survived by her step-mother, Mrs. Julia Warren Jones of Smithfield; seven brothers, William F. Jones of Carrsville; Nicholas F. and Albert Jones of Surry; Andrew W. Jones of Hampton; Jesse W. and James J. Jones of Smithfield; and George Edward Jones of Isle of Wight; and four sisters, Mrs. Howard Nelms of Suffolk; Mrs. John Appel of Surry; Mrs. Sarah Petris of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Miss Mary Virginia Jones of Smithfield. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, in Oakwood Cemetery, Surry by the Rev. Ralph W. Mapp, pastor of the Surry Baptist Church and the Rev. Horace B. Her husband (1891 - 1954) was an Army veteran of WW-I. They m. 30 Aug 1917 in Isle of Wight Co. Her father George Franklin JONES {1871 - 1939} and both his wives are buried in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.
