A lifelong resident of Surry County, she was the daughter of John and Lucy Piland Seward and the widow of Edward Robinson Seward, and a member of Moore's Swamp Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. J.F. Johnson of Ivor; two sons, R. Merrill and E. Wilson Seward of Elberon, and six grandchildren. The body was taken to Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. D.Cert. 26501 (Charlottesville #212) Her father (1840 - 1929) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in the Surry Light Artillery.
