Mrs. Rebecca Jones Thacker, 81, Buried Thurs. Bacons' Cas. 
             * * * 

  Mrs. Rebecca Jones Thacker, 81, died at 1:28 A. M. December 7th in a Suffolk 
hospital. 

  She was the widow of James Allen Thacker and a native of Isle of Wight 
County.  Mrs. Thacker was a member of Bethany Methodist Church. 

  Surviving are four sons, Herbert Thacker, Allan [sic; Allen] Thacker, Cary 
Thacker, and Lawrence Thacker, all of Isle of Wight County; a daughter, Mrs. 
Walter Ricks, of Petersburg; a sister, Mrs. T. W. West, of Smithfield; a 
brother, Willie Jones, of Surry; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were held the Jones Funeral Home at 2 P.M. Thursday 
conducted by the Rev. R.H. Shepland, pastor of Bethany Church, assisted by 
the Rev. Otis Gilliam. 

  Pallbearers were James Thacker, Lee Thacker, Leslie Wade Thacker, Allen 
Parker Thacker, Shelton Lane Thacker and James Palmore, Jr. 

  Burial was at Old Brick Church, Bacon's Castle.
