THOMPSON DIES IN SURRY SURRY - Funeral services for William Wallace Thompson, 81, of Bacon’s Castle, who died Wednesday night at his home, will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at the graveside at Old Bacon Church Cemetery, Bacon’s Castle, with Masonic Rites. The funeral procession will leave at 4 p.m. from Bullock’s Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson was a retired carpenter and a lifelong resident of Surry. He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church and a member of Jefferson Lodge No. 65 A.F. & A.M. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Lillian Thompson and Mrs. Howard Jones; one son, James W. Thompson of Waverly and one foster-son, Wilson W. Jones of Smithfield.
