WHITMORE Mr. Ed Thomas Whitmore, 78, died Saturday, July 24. Survivors include his wife, Lula Carroll Whitmore; a daughter, Mrs. Charlie G. Pond of Crewe; one son, W.T. Whitmore of Crewe, E.C. Whitmore of Chester, Lynwood Whitmore of Point Pleasant, N.J.; three brothers, J.C. Whitmore of Wakefield, G.T. Whitmore, M.D. Whitmore of Newport News; two sisters, Mrs. C.G. Goodrich and Mrs. R.E. Carroll of Wakefield. Graveside services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at Rocky Hock Methodist Church Cemetery, Wakefield. "Ed" Edward Thomas WHITMORE, retired N&W R.R. locomotive engineer, b. 6* Apr 1887, Surry Co., d. 24 Jul 1965, at home, Crewe, Nottoway Co., interred in Rocky Hock Methodist Church Cemetery (Plot 65*), Surry Co., 26 Jul 1965, donated obit, publication unknown; donated by Meade Thomas Whitmore *Rocky Hock list, an extension of the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/surry/cemeteries/rockyhk.txt His parents are buried in Plot 33.
