GAYNELLE LOWE WHITMORE 
Wakefield, VA 
07.25.1928 - 09.28.2019 

   Mildred Gaynelle Lowe Whitmore, 91, of Wakefield passed away peacefully 
Saturday, September 28, 2019.  She was a daughter of the late A.H. Lowe, Sr. 
and Virgie Bailey Lowe.  Mrs. Whitmore was the oldest member of Rocky Hock 
United Methodist Church where she faithfully served for many years.  She was 
a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed 
by all who knew her.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 
her husband of 70 years, Joel Claude "Boots" Whitmore, Jr.; brothers, Alvin 
H. Lowe, Jr., Vernon V. Lowe, and George Franklin Lowe, Sr., and a sister, 
Violet Lowe Smith.

   Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Donald C. Whitmore, Sr. and his 
wife, Jean and A. Keith Whitmore and his wife, Donna; grandson, Donald C. 
Whitmore, Jr. and his wife, Cheryle; granddaughter, Terri Whitmore Pittman 
and her husband, Jeremy; great-grandsons, Thomas W. Jones, Jr. and Trenton W. 
Jones; great-granddaughters, Mary Elliott and Shelby Elliott, as well as many 
other family members and friends. 

   The family will receive friends tonight, Monday, September 30, 2019 at 
Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, 2745 White Marsh Rd. Wakefield, VA 23888 
from 6 to 8:00 pm.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, 
October 1, 2019 at the church with Rev. Cliff Fritzinger officiating.  Burial 
will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests 
that memorial donations be made to Rocky Hock UMC Cemetery perpetual care 
fund, c/o Richard Andrews, 4899 White Marsh Rd., Wakefield, VA 23888.
