She was the daughter of the late Morris S. and Otha C. Griffin Sr. "Doots" and predeceased by her sister Amy Adams. Jean retired from the Isle of Wight/Surry County Farm Service Agency after over 30 years of service and was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Donald C. Whitmore; children Donald C. Whitmore, Jr. (Cheryle) and Terri W. Pittman (Jeremy); grandchildren Thomas W. Jones, Jr., Trenton W. Jones, Mary Elliott, and Shelby Elliott; brother O. Carlton Griffin, Jr. (Susan); sisters Connie Epperson, and Lynn Reust. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, 2745 White Marsh Road, Wakefield, VA 23888. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Rocky Hock Cemetery Perpetual Care, C/O Paul Rogers, 1233 Southampton Rd., Wakefield, VA 23888. R.W. Baker & Co.
