NETTIE WHITMORE DIES AT DENDRON HOME DENDRON, VA., - Aug. 8 - Mrs. Nettie Rebecca Whitmore died at her home here August 3, 1933, after a long illness at the age of 79 years. On Feb. 5, 1880, she was united in marriage to John Whitmore, and to that union were born eight children, one son and seven daughters. Early in life the deceased united with Union Christian Church and remained a faithful member until the end. Mrs. Whitmore is survived by her son, Owen Whitmore of Dendron, four daughters, Mrs. Hugh Hargrave and Mrs. George Goodrich, Dendron, Mrs. Floyd Hargrave, Petersburg, Mrs. Bennie Goodrich, Wakefield; one brother, Henry Andrews, Carsley; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Lee Maynard, Washington, D.C. Funeral services were conducted from the home by Rev. C.E. Gerringer assisted by Dr. W.D. Harward in the presence of a large number of friends. Interment was made in the Union Church Cemetery.
