George Wesley Waters

  SURRY - George Wesley Waters, Sr., 47, of Route 1, died Monday, Jan. 11, 
in Riverside Hospital, Newport News. 

  Mr. Waters, born in Washington, NC, was a machinist with Newport News 
Shipbuilding with over 29 years service.  He was a former member of the 
Beechland Hunt Club, Surry.  He was the son of the late Vernon Glen and 
Hilda Mae Shepard Waters. 

  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sharan Katherine Waters; two daughters, 
Miss Amanda Marie Waters, of the home; Miss Tammy Marie Waters of Hampton; 
two sons, George W. Waters, Jr., of Hampton; Timothy G. Waters of Hampton; 
one sister, Mrs. Ann Marie Jones, of Grimes, NC; two brothers, Earl Waters 
and Glen J. Waters, both of Bath, NC. 

  A memorial service was held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening, Jan. 14, at 
Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Harfst and Mr. Daryl Snyder 
officiating. 

  Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is in charge of the arrangements.
