DR. JOHN WILLIAM WILSON 

Death of Dr. John W. Wilson 
[Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch] 

  WAKEFIELD, VA., August 13 - Dr. John W. Wilson, who was a prominent 
physician and farmer of Surry County, died at his home, a few miles from here, 
this morning at 8 o'clock.  About seven years ago he suffered a severe stroke 
of paralysis, from which he never recovered, but he had gradually wasted away 
until his death. 

  He had many lifelong friends made by his kindness while a practicing 
physician, not to speak of those he attached to him socially.

b. 1 Jun 1831, Nottoway Co., d. 13 Aug 1892, at home, Surry Co., 
interred in Rocky Hock Methodist Church Cemetery (Plot 38B*), Surry Co.,

His family donated the land for the original part of the cemetery in 1889. 
  The remainder of the farm was sold to William Edward WHITMORE in 1891.
